Heléns 4003 is a cost-efficient replacement for high-alloy stainless steel where strength and lifespan are decisive criteria. The material offers great advantages compared with traditional steel, as no further treatment is required. To summarize - a high performance steel at a low price.

Clear advantages

Heléns 4003 is a weldable, ferritic utility stainless steel. It is intended to provide the benefits of traditional stainless steel for example strength, corrosion and abrasion resistance, durability and low maintainance. It also is able to provide additional benefits such as good weldability and formability making it capable of fabrication by conventional techniques.

 

Weldability

Heléns 4003 has a fine grained microstructure which reduces grain growth in the heat affected zone (HAZ) and will allow high integrity welds.

 

Strength

Heléns 4003 offers higher strength and equal structural stiffness than mild steels such as BN EN 10113 Grade Fe430A (ASTM A36) and greater impact and energy resistance than conventional forms of aluminium.

 

Corrosion resistance

Heléns 4003 has excellent abrasion resistancy, especially in wet conditions, reducing wear and re-placement costs.

 

Coating

Heléns 4003 has exceptional under paint corrosion resistance and will continue to resist corrosion even when the paint coat had been damaged.
